Welcome! I am excited to work together to help you, or your child, grow musically. These policies outline the expectations for the Teacher and Student and are intended to support a smooth and rewarding learning experience.
Please review these policies before beginning lessons. If the Student is a minor, the parent or legal guardian should review the policies with the Student and complete any required acknowledgment.
1. Payment Terms
- Tuition is billed monthly.
- Invoices are issued before the start of each month.
- Payment is due on the 1st day of each month.
- Payments not received by the 1st are subject to a $15 late fee per day.
- Accepted payment methods are cash and e-transfer.
Please contact Legato Studio promptly if you have a question about an invoice or payment.
2. Attendance Policy
- Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons.
- If a Student must miss a lesson, at least one (1) week of advance notice must be provided to be eligible for rescheduling.
- Emergency absences, including sudden illness or family emergencies, will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the Teacher's discretion.
- Lessons missed without the required notice are non-refundable and will not be rescheduled, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
3. Rescheduling Policy
- Make-up lessons are offered on the last Friday of each month.
- Students who provided the required notice may request an available make-up lesson on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Make-up lesson time slots are limited and are not guaranteed.
- If all available make-up lesson times have been filled, the missed lesson is forfeited, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
- If the Teacher cancels a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled.
4. Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to:
- arrive on time for each scheduled lesson;
- bring all required materials, including the instrument, music books, notebook and other materials requested by the Teacher;
- maintain a regular practice schedule as recommended by the Teacher; and
- communicate scheduling issues or concerns promptly.
Arriving late does not ordinarily extend the scheduled end time of the lesson, because another Student may be scheduled immediately afterward.
5. Termination of Lessons
Either the Teacher or the Student may terminate the lesson arrangement by providing one month's written notice.
Any payment, refund or other obligation arising when lessons end remains subject to the parties' applicable agreement and any mandatory rights provided by law.
6. Acknowledgment
When these policies are incorporated into a Music Lesson Contract or otherwise accepted as part of the lesson arrangement, the Teacher and Student — or the Student's parent/legal guardian where applicable — agree to follow them.
The version provided for signature or acceptance should identify the Student, parent/guardian where applicable, date of acceptance, and the policy version in effect at that time.
This page provides the current published lesson policies. A separately signed or accepted lesson agreement may contain additional service-specific terms. If there is a conflict, mandatory law always prevails.
